Devyn Reiley, whose father Bruce Collie played for the Eagles in the 1990-1991 NFL season, died in an accident on Saturday, July 29, her husband Hunter said on Facebook.
Reiley was flying in the Airventure Oshkosh show when her single-engine North American T-6 Texan crashed into Lake Winnebago around 9 a.m. local time, the Federal Aviation Administration told Daily Voice.
A passenger who was onboard also died, according to the FAA's website.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it is investigating the crash but that they are currently in "the fact-gathering phase" of the probe, with preliminary findings to be published in the coming weeks.
Reiley's colleagues in aviation took to social media to pen tributes in her memory.
"You were my best friend, partner, teammate, doggy mom, caretaker, and so much more," her husband Hunter wrote on his profile.
"I’m saddened and angry that we only had the short time that we got to spend together, but understand the memories we made are of lifetimes," he continued. "I am blessed with the multitudes of friends and memories that you have left with us. Your dedication to aviation was legendary. I love and miss you so much."
A memorial is scheduled to take place in San Marcos, Texas on Aug. 5.
